Breakfast & IIT Alumni Water Polo Match

We were really well taken care of while in Delhi since he has so many friends in the city still. We were able to stay at the house of a friend who now lives in the US. Thanks Kalia family for that one!
We also had the help of Shishir to arrange several of our logistical details and were invited to have breakfast with his family on Saturday. We were expecting perhaps eggs and paranthas (potato filled bread) but were amazed at the effort they put into the meal. We had at least 5-6 different things to eat that were all amazing. I got the recipe for the chickpea dish that we had and hope to recreate it when I get home. My mouth is watering just thinking about all of the delicacies.

While in Delhi I also had the chance to meet several of Abhijeet's friends during an organized  water polo match between alumni and current students of IIT. Abhijeet, being a sports enthusiast, was really looking forward to the game as well as catching up with friends from his university days. The alumni team got together to practice before the game and tried to develop a strategy to beat the young guys. The game was scheduled for 3:00pm on Saturday and we arrived at 2:00pm so that the guys could try to get some practice and warm up first. Unfortunately, that was not able to happen. The men working at the pool insisted that the pool was only rented from 3:00-4:00 so there was no way they were going to get in a minute before that. We tried to pull out Harsh's smooth talking (he was able to talk them into allowing balls in the pool the previous day when they put up a fuss), but it did not work this time. Once inside, everyone was excited for the big game. The young guys (aka  current students) were in great shape and had cohesiveness as team. I won't mention the score and just let it at the fact that the young guys did win. Abhijeet was a superstar on the alumni team and came away feeling great about the match and the camaraderie.
